Letter sent by Innocent III to the Patriarch of Constantinople, John X Kamateros, in response to a letter by the latter [Reg. II/199 (208)]. The pope defends the Primacy of the Roman See and invites the patriarch and the Greek clergy to a Church Council.

Letter sent by Innocent III to French archbishops and their suffragans. He calls for crusaders to support the Latin Empire of Constantinople, granting crusading indulgences. The pope refers to the “withdrawal” of the Greeks from unity, to the filioque and to the azymes. Letter preserved both in the Registers and in the Gesta Innocentii III (ch. 94).
